Just need a moment to vent girls…
My FI just called to let me know our reception venue coordinator called to cancel our tasting (we already rescheduled with her once) and also to tell us she is leaving for another job! I am so disappointed bees, I chose our venue in part because of its excellent reviews which mostly centered around their event coordinator. If she won’t be there I am so worried! This is her family’s business so I guess I never considered her leaving.
She said they are already interviewing some wonderful candidates but I feel like we are at a planning stand still until the new person is hired and brought up to speed. Thankfully we have plenty of time but just so dissapointed and worried. I know I should hope for the best but I can’t help but be prepared for the worst. Our venue is a hotel, so I hope with the hotel management staying the same as it always has been that the standards will stay the same.
FI offered to schedule our cake tasting now so I can have something to look forward too. He is being much more optimistic than I am, and as much as I don’t always like to admit it he usually ends up being right. So here’s hopeing!

I wouldn’t worry about it. There is almost a year for the next coordinator to get brought up to speed before your wedding. I’m sure things will go off without a hitch

I’m sorry, that’s really frustrating, I’m sure that a great replacement will be found. They can’t just leave you hanging.

This happened to us, but someone else from the venue emailed us to tell us that we were getting a new coordinator. She was terrible and got fired after three months, but we didn’t find that out until almost two months after that because no one bothered to tell us.

Oh man, the same thing happened to me. The venue coordinator was AMAZING. She was half the reason I booked with the venue. I had set a meeting with her for this month. I show up to the meeting and she isn’t there, but I am meeting with another lady who was her assistant and has now replaced her. No one told me the original coordinator had left! I was mad.
Now, the current gal is still good, and she does seem to know what she’s doing. Just trust that you’ll get a good replacement. The reputation of the place depends on it, so they’ll find someone decent. But it’s definitely frustrating!

@Ms_Purple: We went through 4 different wedding venue coordinators. It was ridiculous. The turn over rate for that position at that hotel was like a restaurant. Thankfully though I had a wedding planner so the venue coordinator wasn’t essential to our wedding, however very usefull.
