Have you tried just across the bridge to the North Bay?  There are some great restaurants there with views of the water and San Francisco.  You’re a bit off season, so I’m sure some of them would be available for a wedding.

@cartwheel:  I’m having my reception at One Leidersdoff in SF, look it up online:) I Love it! I’m assuming your reception budget is 10K-15k cause that’s what I was quoted to rent out a SF waterfront restaurant, I looked at boudins bakery, the Waterfront restaurant, a bunch of them! Sorry to hear about the restaurant! That is awful! Your ceremony sounds like it will be beautiful just from the location alone! Lots of museums in SF catertot weddings too!

Hotel Vitale, it’s right in front of the Ferry Building with a view of the bay bridge. I went there for a site tour, but if it is too far off the beaten path, you should definitely ask your vendors for advice, especially if they are local. Good Luck!

We’re getting married at the Argonaut Hotel in Fisherman’s Wharf (right down the street from Buena Vista). Super reasonable for the location, food is good, and the catering director and event coordinators have been so great so far. Everything is included except for DJ, Flowers, and photographer.

What is your budget for the reception?  And how many people are attending?

We looked at several ceremony/reception locations (no restaurants) in SF and chose the Fairmont.

But we looked at:  the De Young, the Legion of Honor, SF Film Centre, Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, InterContinental (on Howard), Fort Mason and received info for a bunch of other locations.

All depends on budget, guest size and if you want dancing.
