I lived in Richmond for a few years. I’ve never been to a wedding at any of these places, but I’ve been to all of them. Maymont is gorgeous. I also know the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and the Science Museum of Virginia do weddings. I’ve never been inside Main Street Station, but the outside is beautiful and I’ve heard they have lovely weddings. Hope this helps a little.

I am planning a bay wedding in VA and my Future In-Laws are based in Richmond so we aren’t completely throwing out vendors from Richmond… let me know if you come across any that you absolutely LOVED and would strongly recomend.  I am currently in KS and am having difficulty finding EVERYTHING we need for our wedding at his family’s vacation home!

PS. Maymont is incredible! My man candy and I go for long walks/hiking there every time we are in town!

Also, have you looked at anything on the VCU or Richmond campuses???  I am sure they have some amazing halls and rental space.  Plus VCU is in a really great part of Richmond, kind of centrally located downtown.

I know you said no plantations and then changed your mind and I just have to tell you that the plantations on the James River are absolutely stunning! A friend of mine got married there in September and it was beautiful. It was really cool to explore the grounds as well…definitely had some history to it! She got married at the Westover Plantation about 15 miles outside of Richmond. There are TONS of them near Richmond though so Im sure you wont have trouble finding one!
