does anyone feel gypped out of anything regarding their wedding because of the recession? i know a bunch of people who normally could afford to fly in, but cant because money is tight these days, also, im not having an incredibly luxurious affair because money is tight with my parents (dads been out of work for two years!).
im not complaining, mind you. i am lucky for what i have. i just feel that i could have gotten more for my money had i had the wedding at another point in time.

I think I would have been frugal, regardless, but the recession is definitely keeping me from choosing certain caterers, certain locations, and certain dresses that I would probably convince myself to splurge on if I had better job prospects and if my FI had a better job. Plus, my parents would be able to help out. My dad lost his job in January, so money has been incredibly tight. Me and my FI are okay, and we’ll have a sweet little simple wedding, but there are those little things that I wish we could afford. Ah well- I probably won’t look back and think, "Man, I should have gotten those expensive invitations!" I’ll remember how happy I was to be getting married.

The recession has me worried whether our guests will feel stressed about attending our wedding. Our wedding is a few hours from home and many will need to stay overnight. I hope our cheap hotel finds will be good enough!
