the sundae bar instead of the cake cutting is an interesting idea...if my location had freezers for the ice cream i would totally be into this- and we've ordered our cake!
I'm trying to buy most things used instead of rent because I know I'll be able to resell the $2 apiece 8 and 10 inch cylinders I've collected...or the pottery barn tablerunners I got for $18 (less than to rent!)
I'm kind of surprised by how many of the commenters to that article think a cash bar is OK. Wow. :-)
I think a cash bar is ok. I've been to multiple wedding where there was open bar for cocktail hour, and of course champagne, but the rest was cash bar. I had a great time at those weddings and didn't think twice about having to buy my own drinks.
