Most of us know that learning the trick of cooking for another being besides yourself can take awhile. And for me, I’m not only learning that trick, but also the trick to feeding a picky eater.
My FI will NOT eat veggies, unless it is lettuce, and only lettuce, or smoked brussel sprouts (no idea how my mom talked him into that one lol), and he doesn’t like some fruits because of their texture. But he LOVES carbs and proteins and will eat them all day if he could. It’s any wonder how he doesn’t gain a whole ton of weight!
But, miracle of miracles, I have found the recipe to satisfy him! And it’s a meal that is as old as time. Spaghetti! I am almost completely against using canned or bottled sauces if I can help it, and am too stubborn to follow a recipe completely lol. I fiddled around with spices, snuck in some mushrooms and extra stewed tomatoes for good measure, and made homemade meatballs using a combination of ground beef and mild italian sausage. And he LOVED it! He loved it so much in fact, that he wants it to be the first dinner I make when he gets back from deployment overseas 🙂
What is your lifesaver recipe with your DH/FI?
