Ahhhh - I have the BEST humidifier, I love it - I forget the brand name though. I'll have FI check when he gets home. It's a warm air humidifier too - I like it so much better than the regular ones that tend to make your bedroom feel like the bathroom once someone's showered.
tnx dancy! definitely keep me posted once you know of the brand. id love to know :)
I don't have a recommendation BUT, when you do purchase one. Be sure to clean it often. Bacteria can collect really easily in them which would make you sick and obviously that defeats the purpose!
I got the $15 Vicks one. I think it's a vaporizer? http://www.vicks.com/product_rating?ext-id=328785101508
I like it. I don't plan to use the little cup for sticking inhalants in, but it gets the room to a decent humidity level.
I was going to reccomend ours, but apparently they don't make that style anymore... Anyway, it's also a Vicks, but not the one posted above. It's a cool-mist humidifier so it doesn't make our bedroom feel like a rainforest at night.
Ok so FI just called - it's called Bionaire. They sell some cool other products too.
I'm not sure what your budget is, and I don't know what they sell at BB&B, but I highly recommend Honeywell, they are a generally good brand for residential and sell some of their lower (don't need a tech out) equipment in many box stores. I am assuming that you aren't going to install this in a forced air system (furnace with ductwork), but that you want a stand alone?
I second Honeywell, and third & fourth making sure you keep them cleaned!
I also don't recommend my grandfathers method of keeping a pot of water on low heat on the stove at all times. He's literally burned out a stove eye that way and still insists on continuing the practice.
thank you everyone for the suggestions! i will look into bionaire/honeywell! yes, i will definitely be using this as a freestanding humidifier. and i HOPE it helps my sinuses! tnx all...happy weekend!
we just bought a honeywell yesterday-- can already tell the difference in the bedroom today-- LOVE it!
We have a vicks humidifier and its great! It doesn't have a filter either, which is really nice!
we got this one as a gift from our registry. by far the best one we've ever had. it can convert to warm or cool mist and even tells you when it needs to be cleaned. it also automatically adjusts the amount of mist to put into your room so it won't get too moist! it's pricey at $169, but even if someone else didn't buy it for us, we def would have shelled out the money for this!
tnx for all of the great ideas and reocmmendations :) i found the airoswiss one @miss texas on BB&B so if i choose that, ill just add it to my registry! hope this thread helps others that are in need of a humidifier :)

hi bees...
the co-op my FI and i live in is super stuffy and very dry. our heating system has been upgraded but even when we adjust the valves, we still wake up stuffy in the a.m.! for my shower, i was going to register for a "good" humidifier.
any suggestions? (preferably ones that are sold at Bed Bath and Beyond?)
tnx :)
