This photographer is more in the San Diego area but maybe you could try him anyway. His name is Cole Joseph and he partners with his fiance, I believe her name is Nicole. I booked them for my wedding in August. We have heard a lot of good things about them but I will not meet them before the actual wedding day since I live in Arizona and can't afford to take days off of work.

Check out Yokeun Oh Photography. Our budget was $3500 and we were able to get everything we wanted (e-pics, album, 2nd shooter, etc.) and still came in underbudget!

So I've come across a couple of places that look affordable, and I'm wondering if anyone has thoughts on these places specifically. The first is Sun Drawn Studios (http://www.sundrawnstudios.com) - but I can't really find any reviews. The other is Corbin Kell (http://www.corbinkell.cc) - which has some good reviews, but the prices just seem WAY too good to be true. Any thoughts/experiences?

She has different price packages within your budget range. She was our photographer and wonderful to work with for our e-photos and wedding. Her husband is also a photographer, too.

I can't recommend the photographer we used enough. He and his partner are amazing!
My dream photographer, (that I will most likely book) is Wildflowers Photography, and she is the best of the best. She charges $4000, but is SO worth it!

2 day of photographers for 5 hours with an album and a disk with ALL digital images (edited)
4 mini accordian albums for our wallets
numerous hard copies (11x14, 8x10s, 5x7s etc)
They are just the nicest people and I really can't recommend them highly enough! they also have a facebook :) I hope you pick them because you won't be sorry~!
We hired Christina Sanchez for our engagement photos (but we have yet to work with her, our photo date isn't until Oct)... I love her attitude so much and she's SO quick to respond via email. In fact, we like her so much I asked her for her pricing info and her most expensive package is...... $2000! And that includes 3 photogs for 8 hours!! I'm pretty darn sure we're going to fly her up here for our wedding too, but we don't have a date yet so we can't quite commit. Check her out and tell her Brianne sent you- she really is a lot of fun :)

He was our photographer for our engagement and wedding shots and I LOVE my pictures! He did an amazing job! My hubby doesn't like having his picture taken, but Will just made things so much fun that my hubby relaxed and enjoyed rather then thinking "OMG! ANOTHER picture?!?"
His package for us was only $1100. :)

@limeyx: I have looked at Next Exit! I think they are a little out of our budget, especially, as you said, for the principal photographers, which is really too bad because I do love their photography.

BTW, we got married in Dana Point and I did my bridal pictures as well as our 1st look in Laguna Beach near the Montage.
Honestly, they are not exactly within our mangled-version of a budget either. I guess I am going to have to pick up some more hours at work.

I think their photography is amazing and they are pretty great, laid back people so I think they'd be easy to work with (or maybe I'm just biased since Paul grew up just a few doors down from me, haha!)
My photograpger is Madeline with Cubrix Photography and her wedding package with engagement photos is running under 2k right now.
Are you still looking for a wedding photographer? I'm acutally a wedding photog myself... and hired Alison Yin, she's based out of Oakland but travels to the area! Our styles are very different, but I think that's part of the appeal. Good luck in your search!

Hi all! I'm so sorry, I had lost track of this thread over the past couple of months and did not realize there were recent replies. Just wanted to mention we did end up finding a photographer that suits our style and budget. But I hope this thread can be helpful to other Bees looking for photographers in the area too. :-)

I HIGHLY recommed Studio 28 Photography! They're a husband and wife team with a photo-journalistic style and they are AMAZING! Here is a link to our engagement session - which was included in our packge!

I'm budgeting $4000 MAX for a photographer (I mean, maybe I could be convinced to spend a little more, but the photographer would basically have to be Jesus). Instead of wandering aimlessly around the internet, I'd like to hear your recommendations. My wedding will be in Redondo Beach, and I'm open to exploring different types of photographers, styles, and photography packages under $4000. Thanks, ladies!
