Any experiences with alterations at Greta's Bridal (Dianne or Carol) or Bernardo's? Apparently they both do (for an additional charge) dresses not purchased at their store.

hi SB brides!
we are having our reception in michigan but i am currently living in south bend and would love recommendations for a great seamstress.
i am planning to buy the dress 'off the rack' in the next month, leaving ~ 2 months for alterations. this process has been tough because i am on a strict medical weight loss program, and have already lost about 35 pounds and many inches; my doctor expects me to lose at least another 30 by mid-april. i know people always say don't buy a dress that is too small in case you don't lose the weight, but that's not the case with this particular situation -- in fact, i am worried about buying it too big because it won't be able to be altered properly! this makes it so hard to buy a dress because i really have no idea what my body will look like then. OY!
i've also had bridesmaid dresses altered before that really didn't look very good even after all the work was done, so i am pretty nervous about this! recommendations VERY welcome!
