Does anyone have a drugstore mascara that works really well for them? I usually always buy drugstore for that product, and need a waterproof one for my wedding day (in 3 days.....last minute, what?). I'm also hoping to find something a little more dramatic with more volume than I currently use. TIA!

I really like Maybelline XXL. It comes in a black and white tube. It's always worked out pretty well for me. I've never used the waterproof version, but that's because I don't like waterproof mascara in general.

My absolute favourite mascara of all time is Maybelline Full & Soft.  If you can find it it is fantastic.

If you want some good honest reviews of different mascaras check out makeupalley.com - pretty much every product out there has been reviewed on makeupalley

I second kpenn's suggestion... I swear by Maybelline Full & Soft mascara!  I'm a redhead and my eyelashes are invisible without mascara.  Full & Soft looks natural, never clumps or flakes even with 2-3 coats, and you don't even notice you're wearing mascara.

I use just the plain maybelline waterproof. The pink & black tube. It works great, but it does get a little flaky toward the end of the day if you rub your eyes a lot.

I'm a big fan of Lash Exact Color Highlights by Covergirl. I started wearing it about 6 months ago and immediately got more comments on the color of my eyes o.O!

Before that I wore plain waterproof black mascara by Maybelline, but I think the black was too harsh for my light features.

I use Cover Girl Lash Exact (the purple tube) and think it works just as well as (or better - woot!) than many of those pricey brands.

I really love the Covergirl Lash Blast.  I used to use Chanel Exceptional de Chanel, with the three sided brush.  Worked great.....but decided to try Lash Blast and got almost the same results.  So it's def a high quality formula.  It helps beef up your lashes if you rotate the brush as you apply.

I love Rimmel London's Sexy Curves Mascara. It curls the lashes and gives great coverage. I've found that it stays put through the day, even if I cry a bit (I'm quite emotional!).

I love my L'Oreal Double Extend Mascara, it's amazing! It comes with a two ended tube, the white brush extends your eyelash length and then the mascara goes right over top of it. It makes my eyelashes look so long! I highly recommend it!

Maybelline, it's in a pink tube and I think the waterproof one has a green top.

I second Maybelline's "Full and Soft" but am also a fan of Max Factor's "Volume Couture" which provides a little more dramatic of a look.

I think this is the fourth or fifth recommend for Full And Soft... their black is a little harsh for lighter complexions/hair colors though. And I don't know if they make it any more (one stupid thing about drugstore brands is how often they update to the new and improved version when a girl just wants to find a product that works and stay faithful! ugh!) but Physician's Formula used to make a cream mascara -- Lash-In-A-Tube, I think -- which was AMAZING. Loved it so much... sigh.

A friend of mine who is an actor swears by Max Factor 2000 Calorie mascara. I love Almay personally because it's gentle on my sensitive eyes.

I recently got a tube of Maybelline's Define-A-Lash for free when I bought some Garnier Nutris Face Cream and I LOVE it.  It's in a fuscia tube, not sure if it's waterproof, but it does not run on me.

Next I might try Full and Soft though b/c all of the recs here have me curious...the great thing about the drugstore brands is if you don't like them you can return them!

I second Max Factor's 2000 calorie mascara. It gives my lashes amazing thickness and length without getting in my eyes. It's by far the best mascara I've ever used.

I'd recommend Max Factor for any kind of makeup- it's a brand that was recommended highest among drug store brands and the more expensive brands (i.e. MAC, Sephora, etc) for quality, and I definitely agree.

L'Oreal Double Extend is awesome! Absolutely does not flake or smudge, looks amazing, comes off easily with water.

another vote for waterproof max factor 2000 calorie lash. actually my only complaint is that it's hard to get off - but it looks amazing and the hold in unbelievable. after washing my face and rubbing my eyes my lashes were still curled and no smudge. I don't wear it every day because I have to rub a lot with eye makeup remover to get it off, but it is a MUST for my wedding day look.

I've always been a die-hard Maybelline Great Lash fan (the pink and green tube), but recently discovered Maybelline's new XXL Extensions and I really like it. Mine isn't waterproof, though, so i don't know if it comes in a waterproof version.

L'Oreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes!!  I used to get giant rings under my eyes until this mascara.  It doesn't smudge or run through tears, yet magically comes off with water (though it can look a little freaky when it comes off because of the 'tubes').

I also love the L'oreal Double Extended Beauty Tubes.  It's a much more affordable tube mascara alternative to expensive Japanese brands.  Another brand I also love is NYX Doll Eyes Mascara--it's available at Ulta or through the NYX website.  It's not a drugstore mascara per se but it's very reasonably priced.  I believe around $8 and sometimes the website as 1/2 off sales.

I like Cover Girl Lash Exact also.  I used to be fairly committed to splurging on Yves Saint Laurent, but decided to try CG.  I think it works great.  Also, b/c it's so much less expensive, it's easier to justify changing even more often than the 6 month recommendation...

I definitely like the Cover Girl Lash Exact. I tried the newest one that is in the pink tube and has sparkles. When people notice, they think I'm wearing blue mascara. I have not gotten a compliment from those people. It's more like, "Are you wearing blue mascara?" and I reply "No...it has sparkles in it" and they respond "Ohhh...it looks like blue mascara". Thanks. I still think it's a good mascara though.

I'm another maybelline gal. I have tried other brands that claim to give fuller or longer lashes and such, but I always go back to my standard pink and black maybelline because it works better!

For regular every day - I like Loreal Clean Defintition Telescopic

When it needs to really last - Loreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes

I don't wear the Beauty Tubes kind every day because it takes so long to get off. It really stays on! Also, the two-step process just takes to long for every day.

Maybelline the BRIGHT yellow tube... something about volume. I have pretty long lashes, but this mascara makes people ask me if my eyelashes are FAKE!
