So I made my own wedding invitations, and hand watercolored each one. Basically, I designed them, printed them on watercolor paper, then painted them. Several people have said I should start a business doing that, and I would really like to. I’m already a freelance illustrator, and I’m really raking in the Washingtons…so not making a whole lotta money. I live in LA, where people are willing to pay for something handmade, especially if it’s something for their wedding.
So i have the idea, but how do I get it out there? My thought right now is to send samples to wedding coordinators. I also need to update my website. Does anyone else have any suggestions for how to get this idea out there? Ways to advertise? Any help would be appreciated!

@abirdword: Start an etsy shop! Also, start business Facebook, Twitter, and/or Pinterest accounts/blogs and link them to your website.

Etsy – then you can easily get business from areas outside LA.

I say etsy, and maybe do a few for free to get them out there? Can we see?!?

Facebook and etsy for sure. Samples to coordinators/planners will also do you a lot of good. See if you can put your things in some local bridal shows at all.

@kariface: This is the cover. The inside has a little watercolored bird as well.
Forgive the ugly blocked off names. And it looks a tad washed out from the scan, I’ll have to work on that, too.
