Hubby and I are taking a 3 day trip up to Monterey next month. I’ve been once and he’s never been. Our only concrete plan right now is to go to the aquarium and to stop at Hearst Castle on the drive back to LA. We’re devoting a whole day to taking the scenic route on the way home and stopping along the way. I’m looking for any recommendation of things to do and places to eat while we’re up there.
Specifically I would love a recommendation for places to have brunch/breakfast and dinner and any suggestions on doing some wine tasting while we’re up there. And anything else really.

Definitely stop for lunch at Nepenthe’s. It is one of the most amazing restaurants and definitely wait for a great seat outside. It is located in Big Sur and you can stop at Pfieffer Beach on your way to Monterey (worth a stop, gorgeous!!!).
In Monterey my Darling Husband loves Hula’s Island Grill, great food and fun atmosphere. Laid back, not fancy at all. I’m not a sea food lover so other bees will have to recommend great places for that type of food. 🙂
What hotel are you staying at? We always stay at the Monterey Park Plaza Hotel. A little pricey but worth every penny. You wake up to otters and sea lions playing right by your window!

@Treejewel19: awesome thanks for the suggestions. I’ll look into all of that. DH and I LOVE seafood so we’ll definitely be on a hunt for it.
We’re also staying at the Monterey Plaza Hotel. 🙂

@Meowkers: Hooray! What type of room did you get? I definitely suggest the balcony rooms. It is so awesome to have your breakfast on the balcony watching the otters and sea lions. 🙂
The Duck Club at the hotel is pretty good for seafood as far as I have been told. There is also Bubba Gumps which everyone raves about.
/PS we are too much alike. 😉
