I’m using the Dress Doctor in Water Tower Place. I think they’re pretty pricy, but I get a cap on how much it can be because of where I bought my dress. But they get fabulous reviews!

You might also want to check with the store where you bought your dress to see if they have recommendations.

I’m using Mary Catomy in Schiller Park — she gets rave reviews on the Knot and other wedding boards I’ve seen and my friend said she’s great.  I haven’t started alterations with her yet, but I’ve seen some of her work on Knot bios and it’s great!

I also used Mary Catomy, and her work was good and she was very nice to work with. Just be warned that she works from her basement which is not the prettiest or most glamorous place. But overall, I would recommend her! She charged about $200 to alter my dress AND my reception dress, and also de-poofed my veil at no charge (it was too poofy!)
