White gold actually should not be buffed or polished - it just removes the plating, and eventually the gold. If it is looking scratched or scuffed, what you actually need is a rhodium dip. Any jeweler should be able to rhodium dip the ring for you. I would recommend that you look for a jeweler who does design work on the premises. For just rhodium plating, you should be able to drop the ring off and pick it up the same day. If you take it to a jeweler who doesn't have the capability in-house, you will be without it for several days. It should cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $20 to $30.
Our jeweler in Laguna Niguel was great . Google search for Nuggets & Carats. Many of our friends got their wedding sets there, prices are way below retail buby you get great quality.
