Anne Marie Williams - Weddings in the Bahamas.
We are using them for our wedding May 10th. They've been great so far! I'll let you know what I think after the wedding. 12 days left!!
Thats so funny- I was just looking at her website and was about to send her an email! I would love to hear your thoughts after your wedding if you have a minute. Thanks so much!!
I'm getting married there, too!
If you get married at one of the resorts, you get an on-site cooridnator (which may mean you don't need to hire a separate planner). We lucked out and ours is AMAZING. We are just using her and did not hire another coordinator.
Our on-site coordinator is not overly organized...so much in fact that we decided to get married off-site to avoid using her.
nycgirl: I will definitely let you know my thoughts after the wedding.
Congatulations!
While many resorts have onsite coordinators to assist you with your wedding. I have found that having a coordinator NOT associated with the hotel has been extremely beneficial to the couples. It ensures that the couples own style, and uniqueness is captured for this very special event. The worst thing in the world is to feel like you were just another wedding on the schedule. Your personal coordinator will act as an adovcate and know how to get some of the perks you may not be aware of. Be sure to file all your necessary papers to process your marriage license, well in advance. Also take extra notarized copies of every thing that you send ahead (things happen). The residency laws for being on the island have changed in the past year so please be advised.
Again, Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
Hi,
Just an update. We got married in Nassau on May 10th at the PoopDeck Restaurant at SandyPort using Anne Marie Williams from Weddings in the Bahamas for our wedding coordinator, and we had our reception dinner and dancing at our resort: Paradise Island Harbour Resort.
Anne Marie was wonderful, and everything was perfect. The only thing I was dissapointed about was that she had said that she would coordinate a limo service that I had booked seperately, and she didn't contact them at all. I would highly recommend her as a wedding planner though...but go with the limo service that she deals with...that way she will coordinate it for you.
I would not recommend Celebrity Transfers as a limo company. They were 30 minutes late picking us up, and showed up with a vehicle that seated 12 when we were supposed to have seats for 14. They didn't even apologize for being late, and when I asked them about it, they said that that was the time they had in their schedule. When I got home, I tried to contact them about it, and their number was disconnected.
I would recommend the Paradise Island Harbour Resort as a hotel. It is nice, and clean. The food is good, the beds are comfortable, and the staff is friendly. It's close to everything on Paradise Island, and it's very reasonably priced for the area.
I wouldn't, however, recommend them planning any aspect of your wedding, or reception if you have more than a few people. We had many problems with them. They were supposed to bring baskets of food to our room on the morning of the wedding, but never did even though we called about it several times. They told me they were setting up the reception with a sweetheart table and 2 long tables for our 30 guests. They set up a head table for 6 (my bridal party had 8 and we have 3 sets of parents) and a bunch of round tables. The cake was supposed to be lemon and raspberry, but was pound cake with coconut icing instead. They lost our centerpieces after the reception, and I had to search them out the day after the wedding.
We also planned a morning after brunch for 30 people, and they set up tables that should have seated 30, but for some reason, set them up for 50 people. Anything non wedding-related was great, but their group coordination isn't all that great.
Anyways, if any of you Nassau/Paradise Island Brides have any questions, or anything, feel free to message me.

Hello,
we are looking to get married on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Does anyone have a recommendation for a wedding planner down there?
Thanks!
