I recently went dress shopping with my mother, and my sister. I picked out a very Audrey Hepburn styled ball gown. I do love the ball gown, and it is gorgeous. However, I am afraid it will be too heavy at the end of the night. There was another dress I fell in love with online. It was very light layers of organza. I've been concidering buying a short dress for the reception, but now I'm thinking I should purchase the satin and organza dress for the reception.

I just need to know how heavy this ball gown will be. The ball gown is 500.00. The tiered dress is 170.00. Is it too much, buying two? Am I being paranoid about the weight of the dress?

    Urgh. Help?

You aren't really being paranoid about the weight of the dress.  My bustle was so heavy that by the end of the night, my back was killing me.  I didn't want to dance the night away so it didn't really bother me though.

I do have a photo, but it isn't want to come off of my phone! :p

I did come up with a solution. We found that we had enough in our budget to purchase a second dress, though it won't be the organza dress. It'll be my backup plan for when the ball gown gets a bit too heavy. It's still gorgeous, but a lot more simplistic. I'm so glad that is out of the way, because I was in a panic in my head!

I'm now looking back on my "Oh honey, we don't need a wedding planner!" statement, and slightly regretting it. haha.

Thank you both for your help!
