I have a recommendation, but it’s in the San Gabriel Valley.  You can try out Sure Beauty & Hair Salon, located on 558 W Las Tunas Dr, San Gabriel, CA 91776 (phone: (626) 281-8686).

My girlfriend who lives in Pasadena has been going there and referred me there, first for facial threading. Ask for Kim, she’s great!!! Since geting facial threading, my skin’s much more smooth and manageable, making it easier to apply make-up too. Kim charges about $15 for threading the entire face and $7 for eyebrows or upper lips. She’s very thorough and takers her time. You should call ahead to schedule an appointment with her. PM me for her direct cell phone number! She is only one I will allow to thread my face and shape my eyebrows! She shapes them nicely like the Korean actress Song Hye Kyo, who’s eyebrows I wanted. As for haircuts….I’ll go with only Kim (again) or Lily (salon owner, really nice too), who’s a real expert in coloring and perming. Their prices are soooo affordable, so check them out for yourself! You can tell them "Becky" referred you. I know the salon provides full body waxing services as well.

They also provide facial services and I’ve only purchase a half-package (5x times) which is much cheaper than Western spas and other Asian beauty salons I’ve gone to. I’ve only had 3 facials and each time, it’s been good….no bad reactions so far. My skin’s texture has improved and it looks more matted and flawless with only microscopic pores without foundation. (I’m trying sooo hard to eliminate pores!!) The facialist (Cindy) is very nice and she takes individual appointments since she spends about 2.5-3 hours with each client. Her prices start at $25 for basic facial and up. I always fall asleep at the end! LOL As for my treatments, since my acne is now under control, the esthetician is working on evening-out my skin tone and eliminating dark spots/age spots and reducing the formation of fine lines around my mouth and eyes! I can now smile with no wrinkling at the eyes!! Much better and faster results than using those eye creams! There no products-pushing of any kind, which I also like very much. I finally gave this salon a chance because my Pasadena friend who’s been searching for an effective treatment in getting rid of her post-pregnancy mask or chloasma/melasma, was able to finally get very noticaeble results from this salon without any medical treatments. The dark discolorations on her face has faded away almostly completely after 7 months and she still has several more appointments in her package!

By the way, the beauty salon is right next to a nail salon, and if you ask the beauty salon to refer you, you can get both a manicure AND pedicure for only $15!

By the way….only "bad" thing about this place is that it closes on Sundays!!! I usually only have free time on Sundays….so I now have to schedule my appointments during the late evening hours on Mondays!

The Burke Williams in Sherman Oaks is nice.

For nails and waxing, I highly recommend JB Nails on Robertson and Olympic.  Julie is the BEST waxer in the entire world.  Eyebrows are $10 and a bikini is $20.  Jen does my nails.

HTH!

Burke Williams South Bay!!!! beautiful and serene.  waterfalls and fire places.  The prices aren’t the low, but you can pay $40 and use the facility(steam room, sauna and whirlpool)all day.  Special services like mani & pedis, facials and massages are of course extra.
