Those prices do seem pretty typical down here. Unfortunately everything down here is more expensive than on the main land! If you want to get a second quote, check out www.medusasmane.com. Chris is the stylist and he does in-suite/room hair and make-up. He's worked on quite a few of my brides and the work was amazing! I don't know what his pricing is, but it wouldn't hurt to give them a call! He's based out of Marathon I think, so there may be a travel charge to come down to KW. Hey-I got married in Key West this past april and used Marie Pierre. (not sure if this is who you talked to or not) She is probably the best known makeup artist down in Key West-she lives there so no travel fees to pay. She will come to your hotel or wherever you're staying and will do trials in her salon (it's tiny!) She loves makeup and hair!!! Check out her website: studiomariepierre.com. She does airbrush makeup-I recommend it! Lori used to do makeup as well, but I believe she has joined Marie Pierre's team. There are some salons down there as well so you might want to check those too!! I know she is pricey but I figure I'm getting married once, so why not?? Good Luck!!!
I'm getting Married in Islamorada in March and using Chris from Medusas Mane as well. I am going down for a hair and make up trial next weekend, I'd be happy to send you pics if you want. Like someone else said, it does seem to be more expensive down there..... around 175 for both...

I am planning to have a sunset wedding in Key West in spring 2011. My fiance and I are going to Key West for NYE this year. While we are there, we are having our engagement shots done. I want to have my makeup and hair done for the shoot. I contacted one place and thought it was a bit expensive. $95 for airbrush makeup and $60 for a blow out. Is this typical for the area or should I shop around for something more affordable?
