kmartinez:  Ehh if you want.  Personally it makes it sound like your wedding is more of a social ‘event’ than an ‘ceremony’.  Then again I’d be put off if I showed up to a wedding and right off the bat I had a camera and microphone shoved in my face.  Then again maybe I’m just not hip with these trends, I’d be interested to hear the other comments.

my cousin had a red carpet and an interviewer at his wedding, just as you described.  I think its pretty popular in Russia, and it matched his wedding theme (movie theater).  he had a press wall too.  it was really neat and I enjoyed it, but some people would probably not be too into it, especially if you’re having a more traditional wedding.

I am so over the celebrity culture.  This is so cringe worthy.  I thought a videogrpher did this anyway during the reception so no need for the added pressure or a red carpet.

This seems like a horrible idea.  How does a red carpet have anything to do with taking lifelong vows?

kmartinez:  our venue has a red carpet but doesn’t do the reporter stuff… I’d feel really awkward as a guest being interviewed like that

As a guest I would dodge the fake paparazzi so hard…it’s awkward and feels attention-grabby to me.

I’d be confused and weirded out, BUT if this is the one thing your FI really really wants, go for it. It’s not super rude, it’s just bizarre.

kmartinez:  if its something that he’s adamant about having, could you work that into your theme somehow?  Old Hollywood or movie premiere would work well for a red carpet.  you could have a traditional ceremony and do a more offbeat reception.

kmartinez:  that sounds nice!  you can mix in some black and white to make it more glam
