Wait wait wait... red velvet onion rings?
To answer your question, I generally love everything red velvet, but... what?!
Came across the onion rings online not long ago when looking for something else entirely (do a Google search for red velvet and they will show up) and apparantly they're quite popular in at least one part of the country. Instead of regular batter, they used cake crumbs.
@Leahhh: Yeah... I've never heard of most of these! The extent of my knowledge was cake, cookies, and cheesecake, lol. And yes I think we'll have a few cake flavors and red velvet will be one of them.
Cake and brownies are my fave. Yumm. And we will have some red velvet cupcakes at the wedding. :) Also some key lime. Mm. It's a really great combo, btw.
Our 1 teir cake was Red Velvet and we also had Red Velvet cupcakes as a serving option =)
we had a bunch of different bundt cakes at our wedding, and red velvet was one of the flavors. it was also the first to go! i never knew how many people loved red velvet cake. it was super delicious with a cream cheese drizzle frosting, yum!
I think the onion ring idea would be an awesome new trend! Things like that always sound weird and then taste delicious, weird! I also think the cocoa would be super fun. And cupcakes are always yummy!
I had a red velvet donut while down in florida a few weeks ago. It was amazing!
I'm having red velvet cake at our wedding! It's my favorite! I also love red velvet whoopie pies and red velvet hot chocolate is amazing!
omg... I had never heard of red velvet onion rings! - it sounds interesting though. I love almost anything red velvet. I'd give it a try.
Red velvet is our #2 tier of the wedding cake...and for Halloween/Bday party I am in the process of making Red Velvet Cake pops....love them!
