My fiance and I have almost everything we need for our home already. We have a registry at Bed, Bath and Beyond that does have some traditional household items on it. When I was browsing through the site the other day, I found a pet water fountain that would be great for my cats who are picky about drinking water. I also found a nice looking dog bed that I’m sure my dog would enjoy. I love my animals and would be just as thrilled to get gifts for them as I would be to get gifts for myself. Plus, their gifts would probably get used much more. Is it wrong to add a couple pet related items to my registry? Would guests be offended?

You can add whatever you want to your registry, but to be honest, as a guest I wouldn’t buy your pets something. But you could always return my gift for a dog bed 🙂

I wouldn’t be offended in the least to see that on a registry, but I’m an animal lover. 🙂 At least it’s something that would get a lot of use other than another crystal vase or something!

I totally registered pet items. Honestly, I think people might even prefer some of it to just buying plates and silverware, or the other run of the mill stuff.

We put a dog bed on our registry at Crate and Barrel. It was the only pet-related item on our registry — and it was one of the first gifts that we received!

My brother registered for Butterfingers at the Target checkout lane. TONS of his presents had Butterfingers tucked in the boxes! I’d totally register for Kong toys and hope people did the same. It would be HILARIOUS. I’d love to get someone’s pet a thing off their registry.

I would love to see pet stuff on a registry! In fact, I would split my budget in half and get you a gift from my husband and me, and a gift from my dog to yours as a “congrats on mom and dad getting married”.

FI and I are both huge animals lovers so I wouldn’t be offended at all! In fact, I would probably make it a point to buy your pet related item(s)!

Why not? Your registry is for things you and your new spouse want/need to start your new life together. If a pet is part of your new life then why not ask for something pet-related? I’d probably be the one who buys that gift off the registry. =)
