They have a whole little pamphlet of incentives (or at least they did when we registered). We got some free knives for registering for a certain dollar amount of Calphalon or something like that. And after the wedding they sent us a 10 or 20% coupon (sorry, can’t remember off the top of my head) to purchase whatever we didn’t get. Just ask the registry consultant in the store.

I don’t remember any incentives, but we did register for things that had free gifts attached – i.e., you get a complete set of pots & pans from KitchenAid, you get a set of stainless KitchenAid bowls. We got probably 10 free gifts that way. We also got tons of coupons – 20% off, 10% off completion coupons, etc. Not to mention their customer service is/was amazing. We noticed our comforter was severely discolored after 6 months. We didn’t have the receipt, tags, nothing. They exchanged it for another, no questions asked, and even gave us 20% off that entire purchase for our trouble. We’ve been extremely happy with them!

No, you aren’t missing anything.  The only thing you get is a 10% completion discount.  Or if you attend a completion event, you get 20% off of everything in the store.  There are prizes to be won at the completion event…I think I won some kind of floor cleaner thing worth $50+.

There’s no stuff like Khols or Macys where you get 10 or 20% off to complete the registry or reward points or that stuff.

But there are free gifts. Some you get just for putting the stuff on your registry. Those are on the cheap side. Then others you get when someone buys things. Like – someone purchased $200 worth of caphalon! Here’s a free frying pan!

As a PP mentioned, it’s all in a pamphlet.

BBB had a big registry completion party the fall after we got married. We could come and shop and get anything in the store — whether it was on our registry or not — for 20% off just for having registered there. 🙂

BBB gave us a pamphlet for the free gift incentives, also a few weeks after the wedding they sent us a coupon for 10% off anything left on our registry. We went in about a month after the wedding and bought 4 items from our registry and a bunch of other stuff. At checkout I handed them the 10% off coupon for the registry stuff, plus one of those 20% coupons that come in the mail to use on one of the regular items. They ended up just giving us 20% off the entire purchase, including our $500 vacuum! The cashier confirmed the whole purchase with a manager, and he signed off on it. I don’t know what happened, but everyone should give it a try.

You can get those free gifts from kohls too. I got a free set of paring knifes because my parents bought us a JR Henckles knife block set.
