How did your registry experience go?

We registered at Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond. I have to say overall the experience at Target was much better than BB&B. I liked having the ability to walk around the store at my own pace. At BB&B we had a clerk with us the whole time and I thought she was kind of pushy. I guess some people might enjoy the personalized experience, but I didn't appriciate having forceful suggestions for things that I "need".

All and all it was fun but very, very time consuming.

No clerk with us at BBB...maybe it was your store?  I was slow as a snail in there!

We did BBB and Macy's.  We did not have a clerk by our side; however, they did check in occasionally.  Both places were pretty good.  I got tired of looking at stuff after a while and took a few trips back by myself to add a few things.   We also add items online which I loved!

We registered at Bloomingdale's and Crate & Barrel.

Our Bloomingdale's experience was incredible.  I felt completely pampered the whole day.  We had already set up a registry online, and had added a few china patterns that we liked, just to be sure we remembered which ones we had looked at.  When we got to Bloomingdale's for our appointment, they took our coats and bags into the back so we didn't have to worry about them, gave us cappucinos and pastries, and led us to a gorgeous table that had been set up with all of the china patterns we had on our registry, plus coordinating linens, flatware, and crystal.  We spent a couple of hours moving stuff around and bringing in new items until we had our table set just the way we wanted - then the Registry Coordinator added it all to our registry while we looked at kitchen stuff.  We found the staff to be amazingly helpful - we spent about 30 minutes each talking with a knife expert and the store chef about knives and pots and pans to see what would work best with our lifestyle.  The store chef made us lunch using a few of the kitchen items we registered for, and then we headed down to bed and bath...  Overall, it was great.

However, after our Bloomingdale's experience we were exhausted, so we just walked around C&B looking for stuff we needed/wanted, and then I entered it all online.

Registering was fun, but exhausting!  And I love checking our registry now and seeing so many things have been purchased!

Like @marzipan, we registered at BB&B and Macy's.  It was actually a lot of fun.  At BB&B they really do want to send an employee around with you to help you choose your registry items.  We politely declined this however.  I know they would have tried to push us into registering for stuff that we didn't want.  However, they were really nice when we said we didn't want the help, and they still checked in on us periodically, just in case we had any questions.  At Macy's the employees were very nice and helpful, and not pushy at all.

I also agree that registering was pretty exhausing.  At both of our stores, we registered for a few actual items in the store, and then once we got tired we headed home, and added the rest of our registry items online through the stores' websites.

We registered at JCPenny's, Target and BB&B.  And I totally agree that it is fun but exhausting.  At our BB&B we sat down with a bridal consultant to go through the book to pick out china, sliverware, and all that boring stuff, but then we were on our own in the store.  I basically got the registries started at the stores and scanned a few items and then I went home then we added stuff to the registries on the computer.  This was fun and not as tiring.  And any free time that I had I would jump online and add stuff to the registry, really fun!  Kinda like shopping online, except you don't buy anything!
