Registries at Macy's+Crate&Barrel-how do we choose what to register for at each?

We registered at both of those places as well. Macy’s has nicer china and electronics. Crate and Barrel had more fun trendy stuff like decor. I would just pick stuff you like from each and register. No real rhyme or reason.

I just looked at all the stores online and decided which stuff I liked better at each one. I love pretty much everything at C&B, so that was easy.

C&B- bedding, decor, dinnerware, drinkware, outdoor stuff. Look at selection and price. Some things at C&B like decor and silverware are ridiculously expensive at C&B and they don’t have great selection in some areas.

Macy- bathroom stuff (towels, canisters, etc), silverware, appliances- stuff tends to be cheaper, which guests like, but their stuff isn’t as “fancy”. And guests can use coupons.

Hope this helps and didn’t confuse you more!

(if you want FANCY china go to Macys. I got everyday dinnerware AND The Marin earthenware which will be my “china” from C&B.)

Im registered at both places and BB&B. Both sites have suggestions and they have been really helpful. My mom gets her fine China from Macys so of course i had to get those there. I also added kitchen appliances to the Macys registry. For knives and vacuum cleaners, i went with BB&B and i registered for the same appliances as i did at Macys.

C&B has furniture, decor and home things. I also added the MAIN reason i registered at C&B which is for the Scandal/Olivia Pope wine glasses. dont judge me. lol

I don’t think there’s a real rhyme or reason to how you decide where to register for what. I absolutely love C&B and that is where the bulk of our registry is. We have a few things at Macy’s, a few at Williams Sonoma. FI just requested that we register for one thing and that’s a ginormous flat screen TV, so we registered for that at Macy’s. Everything else he really had no opinion on. He trusts my judgement.

C&B has amazing glasses– if you like that sort of thing. I started a small C&B registry just for glasses and added a few things on it afterwards. Just today everything in my registry besides the glasses were bought! I think C&B has higher end kitchen goods if you’re into that sort of thing (i registered for a rosle garlic press, tovolo silicone utensils, etc, there)

We registered at both of these stores. C&B has awesome glassware, barware, serving dishes and bedding (except sheets, use Macy’s for those)!

We registered for Fiesta dishes, so that was the main thing on our Macy’s registry, but we also had towels and kitchen appliances on our Macy’s as well because guests could use coupons.

We wanted a waffle maker but none at Macy’s had great reviews so we had that on our C&B.

We liked C&B selection of bedding better than Macy’s and shower curtains too.

Also, we put the pots & pans we wanted on both registeries in hopes we would get a lot of gift cards to C&B, it worked and now we can use the C&B gift cards for newer decor items that we didn’t want to register for (for when we finally buy a house this winter!) and we still got enough gift cards for Macy’s to buy the pots & pans with a bigger registry completion discount. Win-win!
