Yeah - definately spend those gift cards even if you decide to do something else with the cash!
I bought a tea kettle. I can't believe no one got this for me off my registry, it was around $20. Now I'm making fresh iced tea for summer! I also bought a full set of dishes and flatware just so we have enough for now. Part of me worries it might not be available later.
I have not been excited at all about buying sheets or towels, so those might sit on the registry until it dies.
Happy shopping!
We will get our batter dispenser if nobody buys it for us! We are way too excited about this item! We will probably get the rest of our china too!
We bought pretty much everything else that was left on our registry--we didn't get all of our towels or our sheets. I REALLY wanted the new sheets as the ones that we had were pretty old. I felt the same way about the towels, I'm pretty sure my husband was still using towels from when he was in college like 10 years ago!
Kitchanaid mixer if no one gets if for us. If we do get it, then I'd like to get some attachments for it. And the towels-we have 4 nice towels.
We bought everything off our Williams-Sonoma registry. Ah, WS goodness makes me happy!
We have 3 china sets left to get, I wish we didnt but I feel like we need to complete them. We went to Bed Bath and Beyond to get some stuff off our registry for completion with gift cards (and 20% off everything!) and stuff that wasnt on our registry, we "spent" nearly $350! We had $300 in GCs so we only spent $50 of our "real" money :) We are going to Macys and C&B tomorrow afternoon to get more stuff for our completion, Im especially looking forward to getting our food processor and toaster oven.
Ahh, we too are completing our 'china.' Since I will probably never pay for it later in life if I don't do it now. Altough, my mom convinced me that we only needed 10 sets and not 12- that saves a lot of money. We also will be getting almost all of our flatware- people avoided that stuff like the plague.
Last night I finally got a Dyson Vacuum, and I can say with a straight face that I can't wait to get home tonight use it. Ahhh. Such an exciting married life.
We also have money at WS and Pottery Barn.
Two things to note: 1. you can use Crate and Barrel gift cards at CB2- which is cheaper, and you can use William Sonoma cards at Pottery Barn.
We completed our towels, since we'd gotten half of them (2 in each color). We bought some stuff off our Target registery too, Mr. wanted a dremel tool, and I wanted a new toaster.
We haven't had our wedding yet, but if no one buys our everyday dishes, I will. They are way too much fun and too exciting not to have. We'll also complete the china if we get close in gifts (otherwise... no china for us!), All Clad cookware and Wusthof cutlery (we didn't register for too many pieces, so it's possible that they will all be purchased... I hope!). But we'll probably buy cheaper versions of the sheets and towels and stemware if no one picks those up for us.
I agree 100% with you Peeptoe, I'm convinced I'll never buy myself something so extravagant again so I should do it while I have the opportunity & money. I'm only buying 6 sets (we received 2 as gifts) so it leaves room to finish off the rest of our registry.

Hi Newlyweds!
I find myself nearly 2 weeks post-wedding and flush with gift cards to the store where we registered (yay!).
Just wondered what items you scratched off your own registry post-wedding?
If I can convince my husband, I would like to complete as much of our china as possible (I've convinced myself the cards are "free" money, thus a good use would be something we wanted but didn't want to buy for ourselves... I can basically justify anything!)
