So, in Canada, you have basically four choices of places to register – Sears, The Bay, Home Outfitters (which is basically The Bay) and Bed, Bath & Beyond.
FI and I are registered at Sears and Home Outfitters because our families and friends are spread out across the country and some parts of the country have more stores than others.
I have fallen in love with dishes at Crate & Barrell though. The problem is that there are only something like 4 C&B locations in Canada, none close to many of our guests. There is one 10 minutes from my work though 🙂
I want to register at C&B, just for the completion discount. I’ve struck a deal with FI that we won’t register for dishes on our other two registries, but the first however much money we receive goes towards C&B dishes and we’ll just buy them ourselves off our own registry.
Anyway, I kinda feel stupid for having three registries, so I don’t plan on telling anyone about hte C&B one (ie: not putting it on the website). Is that ok? Am I going overboard?

In the US, 3 registries is the norm. Maybe you should make a C&B registry and put it on your website. If people buy, great. Otherwise then you can use the coupon at the end. I’m not sure how different C&B is up North, but in the US shipping is $4.95 and everything is cheap on their website, so it might be popular for people to buy from even if they don’t live by one.

I did Sears for that reason. No one knows we are registered there but I got my completion dicsount card mailed to me a couple of weeks ago. Just do it .

Do it… plus you can also tell your friends, if they ask you directly.
It doesn’t look like they have any online shopping, unfortunately 🙁

I did C&B just for the completion discount. I actually did it the weekend of my shower in my hometown with a BM, because the one here wasn’t open yet, and there was a registry party going on. The only people who knew about it were my immediate family, DH, and a BM and I may have mentioned it to some other people who were engaged. My sister even ended up buying some stuff from it for us for Christmas.
I had registered at HO, the Bay and BB&B. I wish I could have skipped HO, but my mom was pushing it as she thought we needed more items at HO or the Bay, because there wasn’t a BB&B by many of the guests.
