I’ve been chatting with married friends recently, scouring the boards, and doing research – and I’m trying to figure out the right mix for our registries. I am aiming to do between 3 and 4 (I know that sounds like a lot – but there won’t be very many items on them.)
First off, a little background. We have lived together for over a year – and have a one bedroom apartment – so not a ton of room for home goods. Neither of us are big into cooking – but we’d like to have enough that we could at least capably make things if we wanted to – but aren’t interested, in say a Vitamix – because we simply won’t learn how to use it. Given the lack of space, and the fact that we do have a decent amount of things already – here is what I’m considering – would love your feedback!
We are thinking about doing some sort of honeymoon fund (I am very, very aware that some people think it’s a total etiquette faux pax and other people love it – that’s neither here nor there at the moment). I am also considering doing a registry on Wayfair.com – has anyone used this site to register before – did you have a good experience with it? I love Wayfair generally – but don’t know anything about their registry reputation. I am also considering either bed, bath, and beyond or target – for your run of the mill housewares, and then a slightly nicer store like crate and barrel or pottery barn for anything slightly higher end (like fancy barware for the FI!).
Does this list make sense? Is this too many? Thanks in advance for any feedback!
