I was just updating our registry and saw that one item was already bought off our registry! Our wedding is over 6 months away still. I figured we would start to see things go off our registry about a month before the wedding. I don’t think I can NOT peek at our registry every so often now 😉

Yay! Isn’t that fun to see? I am a horrible registry stalker. I have my first two showers in two weeks, so things have really been starting to disappear off of the lists. My Future Sister-In-Law told me that I wasn’t supposed to look, but honestly…you know that you’ll be getting most of those things at some point. Isn’t that the purpose of a registry?

I am bad for registry stalking! I can’t help it.

@keepsmiling19: No, you should look! Some stores discontinue items (crate & barrel for example, has a lot of seasonal merchandise), and if you find that guests have cleaned out one store’s registry, you might want to add a bit more.

@rebwana: I absolutely agree! That is another very good point. We had these wine glasses that we fell in love with and they ended up getting discontinued. You could still order some through the website, but not the entire set. I had to change that just this week. Plus, my mom bought us a vacuum that was different from the one on our registry, so I had to log in and take that off. I think a lot of people stalk their registries, they just don’t admit it.

I am the worst at this. I hadn’t looked but my mom enlightened me that my Macy’s registry was getting sparce and the invitations for my second shower hadn’t even been sent out. I went on to add some things and peek at how sparce it was. She wasn’t kidding, so now I’ve been keeping an eye on all of them. I figure I’ll still be suprised by who gets me what

@countrygirl62312: I also found out, via the Weddingbee boards, that there is a way that you can log into your Macy’s registry and actually see who has purchased what for you. I haven’t done that yet…I think they do that to make it easier to write thank you notes (which, this does make sense…I bought something for my future cousin in law off of her Macy’s registry, and the person at the registry asked me for my first and last name). If I do look at that, I’ll check it out after the showers. I don’t want to know that much this early in the game :-).

@GeekChic: Wow you nailed that title…especially for me! I check it every day (sometimes 2x/day!) and will randomly call out to Fiance “Hey someone bought us that mixer/bathroom set/spatula we registered for”. I’m pretty sure he is smacking his head in the other room. He knows when my shower is and I don’t so I can sort of gauge it by checking the registry. (gawd when I wrote that out I realized how rediculous it sounds!)

I look at my registry every couple of days now that it’s getting closer to the wedding. I get excited whenever I see a gift has been bought, plus I want to make sure there are enough items to choose from.

I was not going to do this but we needed to add some more items to the registry due to multiply parties were are having. Unfortunately, I started checking daily before the first shower.
I also wanted to ensure that all price points were still available… Not everyone can afford the $150 knives

@rebwana: We ran into the same problem! As much as you feel guilty checking, if you don’t, things might get taken away/discontinued and you won’t notice.

I looked at ours the other day only to find out that my Dad had purchased 13 items. All within the $30-60 range. I couldn’t decide if I should be excited about all the fun stuff we were going to get or annoyed that he took a lot of the primo price point items!

@Natalieh86: Ha, my Mom has been doing that too! She goes in about once a month and starts buying stuff off of the registry. I appreciate it, but what does that leave everyone else when it comes to the shower, haha.
