My fiance and I already have a lot of things. What we don't own is property or a house. Nor do we have the money to buy one right now. That said, we'd like to get started saving but don't even know where we want to buy.
Does anyone know of a good Home Down Payment Registry? And one that doesn't take a percentage of guests gifts, charge a fee, require us to use their real estate agents or need a pre-approved loan on a certain house.
We basically want our guests to give us money, but we want to use a website to track who gives us what. This will also allow guests to feel like they're purchasing some thing and not just handing over money. Sort of like what Honeyfund.com does for Honeymoon Registries, but we don't want to register for our honeymoon.
We already own 2 houses (craziness) but I just read this in a magazine a few hours ago. Maybe there is a better one, though, bc this one charges $300 UNLESS you use one of their realtors...might be worth it if you don't have one yet...
I think it's a weird idea and as a guest I wouldn't do it. But, good luck finding a service. I'm sure there is one out there, but they've got to make money somehow, so I'm sure they all charge something.
