For all the bees out there who already live with your Fiance and have most of the things you need, what did you register for? I am a minimalist, and I don’t like clutter, so I want to avoid registering for a bunch of stuff we don’t need. I registered for china, some casual dinnerware serving pieces, a couple fun decorative vases/centerpieces, towels and some luggage, but I don’t think we have enough items on the registries. We don’t really have even as many items as guests who are probably going to be at the wedding. Do you all have any suggestions for interesting things to register for? If people ask, my Fiance suggested that we can also say Home Depot gift cards for a new grill, but beyond the that and the things we already have on the registry, I’m at a loss. Thanks in advance!

We ddin’t register for a ton. We’ll have about 50 guests, and one shower, and I think our BB&B registry has about 20 items, and our amazon.com has 18. Some of those items are pricier, because I know some of our friends like to go in for gifts.
We need some nice flatware (some Nambe 18/10…not crazy expensive) and quite a few nice picture frames (I didn’t see you mention those…that might be good filler)
What about Riedel wine glasses? Bar ware (FI really wanted a muddler, so there is muddler on the registry)? FWe love the jumbo coffee cups from fiestaware…would you be interested in something like that? Could you do a Home Depot registry? That way you could add the grill and some other stuff that might be useful.
I strongly believe you should NOT register for stuff you don’t need or want….hopefully you can find some filler to get your numbers up a bit, but if you can’t, just leave it be.

What are you doing for your honeymoon? My fiance and I have lived together for 3 years. We are doing a honeyfund registry, on top of a very small registry at Macy’s. Check out http://www.honeyfund.com. Both of my sister in laws used this site and pretty much had their honeymoon paid for once it was all said and done.

My hubby and I were using all of his things from college, and it was time for an upgrade. I was soooo excited to get all new stuff that I could actually pick out!

Thanks for the tips! I think we probably won’t do a honeymoon registry. I do think they are a great option, but I’m not sure our guests would love that. I will think about some more bar type items. We do entertain somewhat frequently, so I think anything having to do with entertaining might be a good bet.

@nighthawk: what about things that you wouldnt normally think about. You could register on Amazon or at Target (or I think there is even a website where you can ask for stuff on random websites) that has a lot of things! Maybe something for your hobbies – like if you like exercising you could register for a yoga mat or set or something along those lines.

We had a lot of stuff that we wanted to replace so there was plenty of stuff on our registry, in our opinion. However, some of our guests disagreed. So we put a few electronics on there. I’m glad we did! We added a digital frame and a flip cam. I love having them!

The amazon tip is a great one – I’ll look on there. I also like the idea of a flip cam! Thanks ladies!
