     I already posted about the first gift that was bought off our BBB registry months ago (punch bowl set that FI scanned). Well, I just happened to check the Macy's registry today and both of the requested sets of stainless steel canisters (3 canisters per set) have been purchased. YEAH!!! I went and took the arcylic canister (4 canisters) set off of the BBB registry, because they're not needed anymore.

    I am excited to have one thing off of each registry. The Bridal Shower invites went out last week, so maybe more things will be purchsed soon. Lots of people are asking me what I really want and from which registry....this seems alot better than what I expected, since most people on here say that people get whatever they want. And just think...this is only for the shower!!

    What gifts have been marked off your registry already?

    I just had my shower yesterday, and I stopped checking about a week before. Well, in that week, the majority of things were bought! So don't g et discouraged if only a few things go in the next few days. I'm also excited because I just checked again and ALL of our formal china has been bought (we got 3 sets at the shower, and I guess some very generous guests are buying us the rest for the wedding).

    Guilty!

    I have been checking on a daily basis since my shower invites went out about 10 days ago. I was super excited to see that our Le Creuset 4.7L Oval French Oven had been purchased - yippee!

    @hergreenapples: When did your invites go out and when is your shower?

    @PrncssDva: Our wedding invites are going out today (they are stamped and sitting in a box in my car as I write this - just waiting until my lunch break to take them to the post office!).

    Our shower invites went out about two weeks ago. The shower is on September 12.

    I am a serial registry stalker :-) Fi will even say - done any stalking yet today? We have gotten several on and off registry gifts in the past few days. Recently things that have been bought from the registry are an ice bucket and tongs, a serving platter and matching chip and dip, a double boiler

    Not from the registry we got cut glass bowls with our monogrammed initials and a traveling bakeware set from QVC that is blue with white polka dots....

    My big day is Saturday, so I've been stalking like crazy... so bad... I wish I could just let it be a surprise, but I figure it's still a surprise this way too. :) Just an earlier surprise! I got sooo excited last night when I saw that a ton of our Pottery Barn dishes were purchased. And this gorgeous PB duvet cover that I just fell in love with. Most of my bed linens have been from IKEA, so this is very exciting to me. ;)

    @summerhill: Have so much fun on Saturday. Make sure you post pics. It's still a surprise, because you don't know who actually bought what :)

    My shower is on Sunday and I've been checking my registries like I check my email. It's ridiculous. I need to cut myself off! I was just excited to see my silverware starting to move... I was so excited about it but it didn't go anywhere for so long!

    I don't think there's a theme. Just come and celebrate!

    Check your registry the night before and morning of your shower, that's when most of the gifts will be purchased. People wait until the absolute last second to spend $. This has been true for every wedding I've been involved in as well as my own.

    I stalked my registries mostly b/c I wanted to know what I would be opening at the showers so I could think of something ahead of time to say! I also wanted to avoid forgetting about something on my registry, which still didn't work for one gift (I had never seen it in person)

    @AlmostMrsG: That's a pretty good theme :) Post pics after...I'd love to see them.

    @moderndaisy: I guess I am totally opposite from the norm, because I check the registry ASAP and get my gift ahead of time, so noone else will snag it.

    @PrncssDva:

    I.  Understand.  Completely.  I check my registry from work!  That's right - at the same time everyone else is also at work, and therefore *not* perusing my registry!  Duh!  I even stalk other peoples' registries.  Don't judge me, LOL.  I like to see all the cool stuff they are getting.

    Anyway, we have had two very thoughtful gifts purchased so far (our shower is a week from Saturday) and I am excited to see what else goes in the coming days.  It's fun guessing who bought what before checking the little thank-you manager to see if we were right.  A wonderful friend of ours who works in natural conservation bought us our compost pail.  Love her.

    @mundaetraversa: Believe me, i am not judging. I look at my friend's registry every now and then. She's getting married two weeks before me. Also, there is a co-worker of mine and I stalked her registry to see if there was anything that I could use off of there. I found three things and added them. You look over some things that you might forget about or not even think about. So, I recommend stalking someone else's registry, lol

    @PrncssDva:

    Ha ha, I totally did the same thing, except with strangers.  I went to popular registries and typed in a common name, like Smith or Jones, and all these registries popped up.  I looked at bunches of them to get ideas before starting our own registry.  I always thought it would be fun to secretly gift a stranger with something from their registry.  If I had the money, I think I would.

    @mundaetraversa: WOW...that'd be the nicest poor man's philanthropist act...to gift a random person something from their registry.

    @CaliGurl80: Honeymoon money rocks!!!
