You need to keep track of your registry. Not to see if someone buys a certain something, but to make sure that things that are discontinued are removed and to add any last minute inexpensive items for last minute shoppers who don’t want to pay for the expensive tv or whatever because that’s all that’s left.

I also have my mother doing regular registry stalking for me since I dont want to know everything we got.
