Have any of you bees had your rehearsal before your wedding? I mean directly before the actual ceremony. I am getting married in New Jersey, but live in Florida. All my family lives in NJ and everyone else is traveling (my fiance’s family is quite smaller than mine). Anyway, since everyone is coming from out of town, we won’t have time on the Friday before to have a run through with the officiant. We are getting married at a restaurant and cannot have a run through when they are operating.
The old-fashioned girl in me doesn’t want him to see me at all before the wedding, but the modernist in me feels different.
I am torn…help?

Maybe you guys can do a quick practice somewhere else on friday and maybe just show them a layout of the room. I know its not ideal, but if you dont want to see each other before the wedding its an option.

All of our attendants were not there the day before, half came just for the day of the wedding. So we did not do a rehearsal at all, becuase we did not want to see each other before the ceremony. But everything went perfect!

friends of ours sent out an powerpoint presentation in lieu of a rehearsal, and they didn’t have any probs!

We’re actually having the ceremony the morning off since there is a wedding there the night before and a lot of the wedding party will not be there until the day before and won’t get there early enough (it’ll even be a tight squeeze for the Fiance and I too) to rehearse before (we’d have to rehearse early afternoon). A little unconventional, but it gives us time to relax (or make sure everything’s finished haha) before the big day!

My venue wont allow us to have the rehearsal any other day than the day of unfortunately. My plan is to have everyone else rehearse without me. I figure the only thing I really need to do is walk down the aisle. It cant be that difficult. Or at least I hope not.

You can hold the rehearsal anywhere, really. Just have them all meet before the wedding without you to see the differences in spacing and placement, but I’ve done tons of rehearsals in very different places than the wedding for my brides.
