I can recommend:
Z'Tejas for Mexican food
Scholz Garden for German food
Cuba Libre for Cuban food (and awesome drinks)
Moonshine Bar and Grill is really awesome too!! Delicious food and really great atmosphere.
gosh, i called z tejas the other day and they quoted me $4000 for a RD for 20! i reccommend not mentioning right away that is a RD. maybe they will quote something a little lower. (this was the arboretum location though)
We just had our rehearsal dinner at Corazon at Castle Hill and it was fabulous! The staff were old-hands at these events and did everything for us - all we did was set the menu. After all the wedding stuff, i was glad not to have to worry about decorations, timing, wine tastings, etc. I'm going to post a more thorough review of them when I do all my vendor reviews, but I can't recommend them enough. The food is interior Mexican, which is completely different from our usual Tex-Mex.
Afterward, we had a big gathering at Sholz Garten for all of our out-of-town guests. We booked their downstairs room, which was a perfect size. We had to pay a room rental, then we bought pitchers of beer for everyone and after that our guests could buy their own drinks.
Both Corazon and Scholz were easy to work with, which i greatly appreciated.

Hello Austinite Ladies!
I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for a rehearsal dinner in downtown Austin?
Thanks!
