Hi boothbride!
We're looking to stay in Brooklyn, Jackson, Irish Hills area, maybe even Tecumseh.
Thanks!
I grew up in Jackson. For nice restaurants try Daryl's Downtown or Bella Notte. Both are really nice, and have excellent food, but may be a little pricey. You may also have luck with the Cascades Manor House, it's located in a park and has really great scenery.
Sorry I don't know about restaurants in Brooklyn.
I live in the Jackson area most of the year, and I second twentyducks' Bella Notte vote. The food and decor is excellent. But it's pricey, and you may have a bit of trouble finding parking if you have a bigger group with more cars. Cascades Manor House is also nice, but a little more on the pricey side as well-- I know they do weddings pretty regularly.
Try looking for places in the Jackson area, not in Jackson itself (ie- Vandercook Lake, Parma... skip Spring Arbor, unless you're thinking Chinese food or McDonalds). You might even check Albion, which is a bit bigger.
I love Bella Notte too! My husband is from Jackson, and we make it up a few times a year. Happy planning ladies!
NICE!! Thanks, ladies!! We will be in Michigan for the holiday weekend coming up. We will be at Bella Norte and Daryl's Downtown. Thanks for the tips. I will report back!
Thanks for all the tips! I got the same advice when I was in Jackson! Lenny's subs were yum! It turns out we may have the rehearsal dinner at the wedding site if there is lots to prepare.
Thanks for the tips, ladies! Jackson is a neat town - love the fairy doors!
I'm getting married in Tecumseh and we are probably having ours at the Tecumseh Club. (We were originally leaning toward Basil Boys but we wanted something a little more upscale.) However, my FH's cousin and his wife has theirs at the Lonestar Steakhouse in Dundee. That was really good and the room they gave was quite private. Another idea might be the Clinton Inn. With enough notice you can reserve the whole restaurant. I'm thinking the CI holds about 75-90 people. Good luck!
HI Teris! We actually had the rehearsal dinner at the farm and got it catered by Basil Boys. The food was excellent! My aunt who hates chicken fell in love with their grilled lemon chicken. It was a big hit even with the pickiest of eaters!

I love food. I love family and food together. I love drinks and family and food together. If there is music, all the better, but I must focus that this is the rehearsal dinner not the bachelorette party or the post-bash.
Anyone know of any good places for a rehearsal dinner? Small or large. We're not too sure how many people. I hope to open it up to my family (I have several cousins coming in - a mini family reunion) and anyone coming in from out of town. Then, there is FI's extended family that are pretty much the core group. As you can see, the rehearsal dinner will either be bridal party and parents or a third of the wedding reception.
Any ideas?
There was this one place in Adrian that had awesome food, but pricey and too small...
mmmmmmmm.........
