Trying to pick mine out....are they supposed to be white or specifically not white? any traditions i should know about related to it?

I was really thinking about wearing something fun for the rehearsal dinner. Like, something cute and short... Im not sure about the white situation, but I probably wont end up with white
I already have a white dress hanging in my closet from a couple years ago! Here's a photo (Not me!! I'm far more endowed!)
I'm not wearing white myself. :) Was thinking red or black but I haven't narrowed down the dress yet.

I wore a little white dress because I figured there's only a few wedding related activities where you can dress all in white and get away with it :)
I am thinking about wearing one of these dresses, but I'm not sure which I like best!
I just bought mine tonight! It kind of looks like a romper in the picture though. Can't decide what color shoes.
For some reason I didn't want to wear a white dress. I figured I'd save that for the wedding. Many people do though.

hoping to find something similar but less expensive, mine will be in september so cool at night in MA, our wedding is navy and green Nautical so thought it was fitting

It looks much better on me than it does on that weird stand, haha. I have a little cardigan to wear with it but I'm stuck on what shoes to buy

@cmt83: went to Bebe and tried that one on-it's a killer dress. (a tad bit see through/thin material though) I almost bought it for my bachlorette this weekend but went with another stunner instead. you should definitely get it though!

@icelara: that's SO cute! Where's it from? You could wear it in the summertime with flats/sandals, or out for date night! (Just not to any other weddings!)
Mine is similar to this pic, but with wider all-white waist band and halter strap (not to mention less low-cut). I bought it for a cruise a little over a year ago. We're also having the RD at an Italian restaurant.
When I mentioned to some of the wedding party and family that I wanted us to be 'dressy' (I believe I said no jeans, no tennis shoes), they all thought I was being stupid/unreasonable and why can't they just wear whatever's comfortable? A couple people said they had NEVER heard that you're supposed to look nice at the Rehearsal/Dinner. I was like "What? Don't you guys watch movies? They always look so classy in movies!"
(In contrast, my twin sister's RD was at a very casual pizza place and she was insistent that she was wearing pink sweat pants and her 'Bride' t-shirt. Um. No. I can look like a bum any ol' day!) Sorry. **gets off her soap box**. Here's that pic.
