That’s adorable! I bought a dress for the RD before we planned any of it, and we’ve since decided we’re going to get it catered and have it in FFIL’s backyard. I was worried the dress I bought would be too fancy for an outdoor, backyard dinner but my MOH told me that I can wear whatever I want because I’m the bride, and I agree with her! πŸ™‚

Too much as in, too bridaly? Or too much as in cost? Personally, I am totally gonna be rocking a white, super bridal-like dress for the rehearsal! I love wedding gowns and if I had my way, I would have as many of them as I could find occasions to wear them, including the RD!! πŸ™‚

But… I gotta say, I think that’s a steep price to pay for what is essentially a white cocktail dress. I think DB is doing what everyone in the biz seems to do — tacking on the word “bridal” and hiking up the price. But then again, I don’t know your budget, and $400 for a special dress for a special day could be totally appropriate for you. If not though, maybe we can help you find a similar look for less?

oh, i think $400 is totally fine for that… could you imagine if that was your actual wedding dress??  dirt cheap!  i have been considering this pretty dress from jcrew, which is the same price, for my RD dress… it’s kind of like having a 2nd wedding dress but not quite white πŸ™‚  however i would re-think wearing a white dress, especially if you’re gonna wear it for the actual rehearsal… do you want him seeing you walk down the isle in a white dress before the actual wedding?  just something to think about πŸ™‚

@Kemi that dress is gorgeous!! See, to me, that gown is much more versatile and can be re-worn to a bunch of different occasions (making it worth the price). I don’t know how much extra wear I would get out of the DB dress, even though it is ADORABLE and totally perfect for a RD, you know?

You got me thinking about the walking down the aisle in white thing… hmmm. But it’s still not *the* dress! It’s like a teaser for the imagination! Still, maybe I’ll end up with something in ivory/champagne instead. Good point.

yeah, littlemissmango, i’m totally with you, i plan to wear this dress on our honeymoon too (with my wedding shoes which are AMAZING and comfy and awesome… i could go on).  see, it’s worth thinking about wearing white at the rehearsal… not that it’s a bad idea but just something to think about.  that’s why i like my J.Crew dress, it’s one of their wedding dresses but also comes in other colors and i LOVE that soft green… and i was inspired by this thread and just ordered in 2 mins ago lol!  i can’t wait to get it!!!

ktmcculloch, you will look ravishing in your DB dress… so so so cute πŸ™‚  and so much fun to feel like you’ve got TWO wedding dresses, right??

Oh girl you even got versatile wedding shoes — good call!! Yeah even though your dress isn’t white, it’s still pretty bridaly, which I love! Ahh, looking on J.Crew right now… πŸ™‚

Very cute dress, but $400 seems like a lot for a RD dress.  However, if you can afford, then go for it!

I do think is too much. It looks too bridal but if you love it then go for it. Is your day!!
