We had our rehersal dinner at Bistro Bella Vita. My FI and I did a prix fixe menu and included coffee, soda, etc. Guests could purchase alcoholic drinks from the bar. My FIL paid for the rehersal dinner, so that was a request on their part. The meal consisted of a salad, entree, and dessert.
Bistro Bella Vita was great! You could even do just pizza and beer if you wanted. They do have a private room, but we opted for an area up near the front window. It was a great dinner!
what about Tre Cugini? We looked at doing our reception there, but for 150 ppl it was a bit out of our price range. Great atmosphere though! (and they have a normal dining room, not just the huge room for banquets)
I originally wanted it at Bistro (we had our engagement party there and absolutely loved it) but my FMIL didn't get a good vibe from the website and asked me to keep looking. Since she's from out of town there is no way I can take her there and prove her wrong so I'm still looking..... I'll have to look into Tre Cujini, I love their ballroom but that was also out of our price range. We're having our reception at St. Cecilia in the Dexter Ballroom and The Gilmore Collection is catering. :)
Curious. How did she get a bad vibe from the website?
Anywho. Are the FIL paying for rehersal dinner? There are a couple other options that are nice, but a wee bit more expensive..... Louis Benton, The Chop House, 1913 Room, Charley's Crab, Leo's, One Trick Pony, & San Chez (my fave).
oh man, San Chez has been on my list of places I want to try when I'm in GR for a while... I'm so rarely in GR though!
I have no idea how she got a bad "vibe" from bistro but my fiance' is going to talk to her and tell her that's where we want it, I'm staying out of it! Yes, the FIL are paying for it so I am trying to make everyone happy. I looked into having it at Republic/Rockwell also so that may be an option if she doesn't budge.. They don't have a private room, which is fine but they will customize the menu for your party, I think you can choose 3 options from each catergory of the menu. Our budget is 12-1500 so I think the chop house, 1913, etc would be way out of the question..
San Chez is awesome but they also have a $25 pp minimum plus the rental fee. We had one of our first dates there, it's simply amazing. Right now they are running a special, if you have your reception on a Friday night upstairs it's %50 off.
seriously!?
I wish we had known about that.... San Chez probably would've been at the top of our list if we'd been able to get them at 50% off! And I would've been fine with a Friday wedding.
*sigh*
Life moves on.
I'm doing my rehearsal dinner at McFadden's - they have a private room on the 3rd floor. It is very reasonable and you should be able to stay at that cost for 25-30 people. The coordinator there is very helpful. HTH!
My fiance's sister had her rehearsal dinner at San Chez last year. It was delicious and such a blast. I'm not sure about the price tag for it but def worth checking out

Sorry, there are no users yet.
Anyone have some good ideas for a rehearsal dinner downtown GR for 25-30 people? Our budget is around 12-1500 including alcohol, tax and tip.
Thanks!
