I think it would depend on who you are inviting to the rehearsal dinner. If it’s just immediate family and the wedding party, I would assume a phonecall or email would be sufficient as they’ll already be aware of it. If there are a lot of out of towners who are invited a separate invitation may be necessary but shouldn’t need to be as fancy as the other wdding stationary. Maybe a cute over-the-counter card that goes with the theme of the venue or your colors would work well enough.

Ditto ErinSea.  But keep in mind, whomever is hosting the event is supposed to be the one sending out/spreading the word of the invites.

I wasn’t sure who was hosting, but figured I’d drop it if there was a chance to spare you the pain

We went with some cute Vista Print invites for the rehearsal dinner – we have some aunts/uncles who will not attend the rehearsal, but will come to the dinner, so with those, we’re putting directions from the hotel to the church.

For the people involved in my rehearsal, they’ll get the invitation in the mail for the dinner, but I’ll probably just include the rehearsal details in the timeline of the weekend.

i think we’re going to use pose prints for the rd invites. we’re inviting close family to the dinner who wouldn’t otherwise know that they were invited. and i wanted the opportunity to use these!

i’m doing what futuremrsstaj is doing for those actually involved in the rehearsal — probably add a small enclosure that says what time the rehearsal starts.

and yes, i know that since the groom’s family is hosting i really shouldn’t be picking the invites, but i can’t resist! pose prints are too cute!!
