It would be ok only if you had a fancier dinner at the ballroom next door. : (7 votes)

    Hello Bees!

I had a great idea last night as I was drifting into LaLa Land - rehearsal dinner at the Boardwalk!  Hey, they do birthday parties there, right? So why not rehearsal dinner? I was thinking we could host dinner (carnival/fair type food) in the arcade, or (the more expensive and fancier option) at the Cocoanut Grove, which is a ballroom next door.  On Friday nights in the summer they have concerts on the beach on a bandstand.  People could go to the concert after, ride some rides, go bowling or play games.  We could have some tickets and tokens for people as a party favor to get them started?

    What say ye?

Added bonus: the boardwalk is where we had our first date!

I'm all about the personalization of events like the rehearsal dinner and that sounds really cool! If you can make it work, go for it!

Go for it! You could really play it up too & your guest will love it! Plus, since the boardwalk is where you had your first date, you HAVE to do it there!

Sounds great to me. Rehearsal dinners are traditionally very casual. Eating at a boardwalk sound great and who doesn't like that type of food?

LOVE this idea!  it's personal, it's fun, it's different from "the norm", & it highlights a sight/activity that OOTers would probably want to visit anyway.  Maybe even look into some fun ice breakers or conversation starters so that guest can get to know each other better throughout the RD evening...

It sounds like fun, plus it's something really personal to you two.  We had ours at an outdoor bar/grill with a tiki theme where we boated over, rather than drove.  Totally us and our guests really enjoyed it.

I think if the logistics work, this is an awesome idea. It will be fun for your guests, totally unlike your wedding (I'm guessing! :), and cute and personal to you. Win-win-win!

Love the idea of it!  Especially if you have people from OOT that would love to experience the Boardwalk!  We are having our RD at a vineyard and the FI's BIL is going to play guitar as background music.  We love music and love just sitting around with a glass of wine singing along or chatting with our friends and family.  Which is what the evening is all about!

You could make the invites in the shape of a carnival ticket or put tickets at their place setting.  Oh all the possiblities :)
