How formal do you want it to be? Because I was going to say something like bowling afterwards might be fun and you could make it guys against girls to get the families to interact with each other.  If they’re trivia people that could be done at the dinner with the same concept of teams and mixing the two families instead of one versus the other.

Could you just try to mingle the tables, a few from each family at each table?  Or do stations or something where people have to be moving around for the meal? I think if I weren’t inclined to talk to ppl I barely knew, I would be especially uncomfortable playing games with them.

At a shower, we played the game where you have names of famous couples on your back and try to find your match by asking questions. That could be good at a rd too.

you could have a lawn game if its outside – cornhole, bocce etc.  I also think its really cute when you have a slideshow playing – including photos of yourself while dating but also baby photos – everyone LOVEs those!  We had a tv so made a powerpoint slideshow.
