Most of the ones I saw in Durham were too expensive for me, but I liked them! We looked at Four Square, Magnolia Grill, and Nana's. All were nice, but they do seem to be best suited for rehearsal dinners that are on the smaller side.
Not technically in Durham but Angus Barn is really cool, and they have many smaller rooms of various sizes. Also 411 West in Chapel Hill has a really pretty back room that I think would be very nice, and probably more reasonably priced.
Thanks, yes, the cost was the issue, I just dont want to have to arrange 2 gala dinners! Since basically EVERYONE is from out of town, I want there to be a difference between the two! I even look at Bullocks but that is maybe too casual. I also looked at Caffe Luna which is almost as much as all the hotels...let me know what you decide! Thanks
Thanks for the suggestion of RUE CLER, we booked them, I am so happy, the food is amazing. Vita was our 2nd choice. Thanks for the suggestion Kristern!
Help, I dont like anything I've seen!

Hope that helps a little!

posted by ju1244 2 months agoHere are a few suggestions for a place in Durham:
Rue Cler (French place in downtown durham with a very neat space...as for dinner prices, for $25 you get an excellent meal)
Piedmont (more french food, bit more pricey than Rue Cler)
Another Thyme
Maybe an outside dinner on the terraces of Foster's Market...not fancy but beautiful when the wisteria is in bloom)
I hope those help!
