@brlabrat:  There are some great restaurants in Alexandria. What kind of food are looking for?

There is a nice place on King Street in Old Town called Vermilion. If you want something fun you can try Hana Tokyo which is a habachi place on Duke Street, they also have a private room in the back of the restaurant with habachi stoves. The Charhouse in Old Town has seafood but it can be a little pricey. There is a cute restaurant in Hotel Monaco on King Street called Jackson 20 with great food. There is also La Tasca and Las Tapas, both on King Street that serve Spanish tapas and really inviting atmospheres! Just a few suggestions for ya!

Call and check into private sections and menu selections. Good luck and have fun!

@CocoClassic:  so funny. my friend’s husband was the head chef at vermilion before he started work to open the Iron Gate downtown as the owner (same restaurant group).

i’d second vermilion, the president took the first lady there for valentine’s day last year. 🙂

@TwoStatesBride:  Really? I had no idea lol. I had lunch there last year and really enjoyed it. Plus I really like the ambiance – pretty and laid back but not too stuffy.

@CocoClassic:  yeah he’s a really great, funny and cool guy, (and SO TALENTED – nominated for a James Beard) and his wife is hands-down one of the best people i’ve ever met (we are close friends). Iron Gate is going to be badass when it opens, I cannot WAIT.
