Not sure what your budget is but here are aome places I’ve been to and liked when visiting my sister in Philly:

Davio’s.  It’s in a gorgeous old bank building.  They describe themselvea as a "Northern Italian Steakhouse", but they have pasta and vegetarian-friendly items as well.  <font face=”Arial” size=”2″> </font>http://www.davios.com/Philly.htm

<font color=”#810081″><font color=”#000000″>Matyson. Yummy innovative food and BYOB! (Oh you lucky Pennsylvanians and your ability to pack your own potables!)  You could save a bundle on wine. </font>http://www.matyson.com/index.html</font>

Fork. Nationally acclaimed and rightfully so. (FYI, their private dining room only holds up to 35.)  http://www.forkrestaurant.com/

I love Davios!  You can also try Roy’s.  Ask for Vinnie, he takes care of all the rehearsals and weddings at Roy’s.

If you wanted to try something more casual, I know Johnny Brendas and Standard Tap have private rooms with bars.

We’re getting married Memorial Day weekend, and we just looked at rehearsal dinner places last week! We’re having the same size dinner as you, and we liked:

 Bistro St. Tropez

 Twenty21

Brasserie Perrier (this is where we are going to have it, I think)

But in Center City there are so many good options! Good luck!

My fiancee lives around the corner.  If you post what your visions is/ price range I can probably make a good recommendation but here is an across the boars smattering:

If you want soething different but you may need to get in the car is near Penn there is the restaurant school.

Devon (upscale)

alma decuba (starr)(upscale)(cuban)

smith and wolinskies (upscale)(steak)

prime rib (wood paneling)(upscale)

Rum Bar (casual/tapas)

La Fontana Dellacitta (BYO Italian)

Gengi (sushi)

I am not sure who else may have smaller or private rooms off hand but I know most of the restuarants in the area.

cuba libre has good food too and a nice private area … the main restaurant gets rowdy on the weekends tho bc they open the floorspace up for dancing around 10 … tho you might not end up being there that late!
