@sunshinepeach:Hi sunshine! I just saw your tip on my coordinator message and I thought I should return the favor. :-)
If you are looking for Southern food, you could try one of the Paula Deen family restaurants:
I believe The Lady and Son's has a private space for rehearsal dinners and small receptions:
And here's another restaurant owned by her son (although it's a 15 minute drive from downtown, I've heard):
And if you're looking for something a bit more upscale, here's my reception venue:

It's got some beautiful private rooms, with views of the Savannah river!
If you don't mind my asking, when are you getting married? We Savannah brides should stick together. :-)
Based on the atmosphere and the type of food you are looking for I would say Paula Deen's The Lady & Son's would be perfect. I went to a wedding reception there a few months ago actually, they had a private room downstairs that was very rustic feeling and lovely. The food was served buffett style (as it usually is in the restuarant) and so delicious.

Hi everyone,
We're planning a small wedding in Savannah, GA this summer. We're looking for a venue to have a rehearsal dinner. It's going to be a small group for the dinner, maybe 15 people. We'd like a Southern food venue, or just really good food for our guests. Also we'd like for the venue to be somewhat casual as some people will be coming directly from the airport to the restaurant. I'm not from the area at all so I've been searching the internet frantically. Any help is appreciated!! Thanks
