Hey Detroit area brides- looking for any ideas for a rehearsal dinner venue. I haven’t lived in the area for seven years so I’m a bit out of touch! Looking for:
– Less than $30/head including a few bottles of wine, tax, tip
– Downtown Detroit or downriver or as far northwest-ish as Northville/Novi
– Bonus points if it is “iconically Detroit” as many guests coming from overseas
– If we can’t find the above criteria for our price, our back-up plan is renting a room at a community center or similiar, but the first few I checked did not allow alcohol!

Our wedding isn’t until June but we were thinking of doing something easy, cheap and relaxing. Our wedding is downtown in Greektown so we were thinking Pizza Popolis. We haven’t really looked into it yet to see about booking it or if we can get a private room or not, but that’s the tought as of now! 🙂

I had mine at The Detroit Beer Company.
We had about 50 people there. We provided 3 appetizers: cheese and crackers, shrimp cocktail, and spinach and artichoke dip. We also had dessert and included beer and wine. We picked 6 entrees from the menu for our guests to choose from.
We ended up spending about $2200 including tax and gratuity. We reserved the upstairs and it turned out pretty nice!

Update: We ended up booking the Ten Eyck Tavern at the Dearborn Inn. It didn’t meet my downtown Detroit criteria, but it was under $30/head and it’s across from the Henry Ford so kind of iconically Detroit, haha. And the Dearborn Inn is gorgeous! They had a private room for us and it was perfect! Service was fab, food was delicious. Definitely recommend.
