I'm helping my future in-laws look at a possible restaurant for our rehearsal dinner.  It's about 26 people, I want it to be casual and not too expensive.  Does any have any suggestions?

I'm looking in Media, Swarthmore, Springfield, Glen Mills area -- I found Iron Hill Brewery or Tavolas Restaurant but still need to price it out.  Does anyone have any other suggestions.

I've been to the Iron Hill in Media several times.  They have pretty good food and the it's a nice atmosphere overall.  I'm not from Delaware County, so I can't really help out much.  Why don't you do a google search of restaurants in Delaware County.  Also, what is their budget?

Iron Hill is my favorite restaurant (we are there weekly, at the least!) -- there is a room in the back that isn't quite private, but it's closed off and I've seen parties there.  Sligo, an Irish Pub, also on State Street, has an upstairs area for private parties, but it's still a chill environment.  There is also D'Ignazios Towne House in Media.

Springfield has mostly chain restaurants, but in the Glen Mills area Pace One is really cool, as is Simon Pearce (closer to West Chester), although they may be on the slightly pricier end.

I grew up in Delco and still live there so if you have any questions as you continue to look at places, I'd be happy to help if I know more info to pass along to you!  Feel free to PM me.

I think Iron Hill in Media is a great idea.  I have to say that I am not a big fan of D'Ignazios Towne House in Media though.  I have only been there once and the food and service was horrible...I would never go back.

Tulip61110, I have heard mixed reviews of the Towne House -- my best friend had her wedding reception there and the food, service, and atmosphere were fantastic.  Their event staff is different from their regular restaurant staff, I believe, though, which may be why you had a bad experience.
