My fiance and I are getting married at the Elkridge Furnace Inn right outside of Baltimore.  We're looking for a fun place to have a rehearsal dinner in or near Baltimore, preferably a place where we can do an open house style party, with heavy apps and drinks.  We'll be having 130 people or so and we're looking for a classy but inexpensive place.  Any suggestions?

Matthews 1600 is in Catonsville and would be a great venue for that many people. They have some banquet rooms, and it's tucked away.

I want to second the Matthews1600 recomendation.  My former employeer had several holiday parties there and it was always nice.

I'm not sure of your budget but I always thought it would be cool to have a gathering of some sort at Pazo downtown.

You could try Victoria's Gastro Pub out in Columbia.  It has a great atmosphere, delicious food and has a few party rooms in the back.

Also in Catonsville, near Matthews 1600 is the Candlelight Inn, which I have heard is nice and homey.

In downtown, Red Star is a cool place.  They have an upstairs area that they rent out for free, as long as the bartender brings in a certain amount of money from you that night.  It's easy to achieve.  I went to a party there once and it was great!  Plus, it's in Fells Point, so there are places to go afterwards.  I haven't had dinner food there, but I have been there for brunch and it was fantastic.

If you want something a little more casual, I think that a rehearsal at Little Havana's could be fun.  They could accomodate your large party easily and the food is good.  The only thing is that it's a bar, so that might be a bit casual for you . . . http://www.littlehavanas.com/

Thanks all for the great recommendations!  Still researching, but I think it's between O'Brycki's, Ryleigh's Oyster Bar, and Red Star Bar & Grill (thanks for the rec!).

I love O'Brycki's! The food is delicious... the service is definitely "salt-of-the-Earth" if you know what I mean, but it will definitely give your guests an authentically Baltimore experience.
