Have you thought about Pinup bowl on Delmar? You can actually rent the entire place, it's not super pricy.
Try the Schlafly Bottleworks in Mapelwood - they can host private parties and are pretty reasonably priced.
We are going to have our rehearsal dinner at Bartolinos. They have multiple locations and lots of different pricing depending on what you're going for.
Bowling would be awesome for a rehersal dinner. Schlafly's would be pretty awesome too. I contribute nothing new, sorry. Just my $0.02.
Currently looking into Helen Fitzgeralds, Bowling/Tropicana and Pietros (a rest. around our house). I'll keep ya posted!
I forgot to mention Canyon Cafe (read my latest post) - it's a southwest restaurant with good food (not sure on capacity, although they led me to believe they could hold us for my rehearsal dinner).
I'm looking at having mine at Chimichanga's in south city. It's an awesome little mexican place that has great food and really cheap prices. Their margaritas are awesome too!
Wildflower in the CWE. I 2nd Pinup Bowl, that place is awesome! You could also try Eclipse, the restaurant in the Moonrise Hotel.

STL Bees I need help with my rehearsal dinner location! We have looked at a few places but honestly I'm not very traditional and sitting in a hall/country club/restaurant and having dry chicken is not something I am looking forward to.
the FI and I have been talking about doing something a little off the wall but need some more ideas. So far we have Blueberry Hill, Tropicana Lanes, Dave & Busters.
D&B is a little too far out as we are looking for south city, south county or central like Maplewood/Clayton area.
