How about some place in Old Town?  That is very close to Point Loma and you could probably come in under budget.

Have you thought about somewhere in the gaslamp? I know it’s a bit touristy and parking can be difficult, but there are so many restaurants down there.

Old Venice is a super cute Italian restaurant in Pt. Loma.  Miguel’s and The Brigantine are also in Pt. Loma.  I’m getting married in Pt. Loma too and am probably having my Rehearsal Dinner at La Pinata in Old Town.  A friend of mine had hers at Zocolo in Old Town.

I’m pretty sure Phil’s Ribs has a conference/banquet space and it’s in Point Loma!

We had our rehearsal dinner at China Camp – http://www.yelp.com/biz/china-camp-san-diego

They were beyond helpful, very reasonably priced and all our guests love it. I’m not a huge fan of Chinese food (it’s Mr F’s favorite) and I really like China Camp.
